Storefront Accessibility
Short Wave is located in downtown Astoria, Oregon in a historic 1916 building.
Dogs are welcome! We have treats for them!
Parking on our block can be challenging. Please keep this in mind if you are visiting by car and have limited mobility. There is ample free parking along the riverwalk to the North of us and on the residential streets up the hill from us to the South.
There are 3 rather steep steps leading to our door, with hand railings on either side.
Unfortunately, our storefront is not wheelchair accessible, as the dimensions of our steps and sidewalk would not allow a ramp with a slope that meets the building codes.
If you use a wheelchair and would like to shop with us, you are welcome to call us at 503-308-9014 and we will be happy to assist you over the phone. You may also order online and select "In-store Pickup." We will send you an email notification when your order is ready. When you arrive, give us a call and let us know you're outside. We will happily bring your order out to you. During business hours, we are usually able to fulfill in-store pickup orders within 15 minutes, although you are also always welcome to call after placing your order to let us know if you are in a hurry.
It is one of my longterm goals to move to a location with mobility device accessibility. In the meantime, I am always open to suggestions about how I can improve Short Wave's accessibility. Drop me a line at hello@shortwaveastoria.com with your suggestions.
