This wheel thrown Dessert Plate from Alexandria Cummings is perfect for a slice of cake or a morning pastry, some toast, a midday snack, or a little side salad. Glazed in bright colors that will bright delight to your table.

Materials: speckled clay with satin and matte food safe glazes.

Please note: Due to the handmade nature of ceramics, shapes, sizes (1/4 of an inch or so), finishes and glazes (colors) will vary slightly from piece-to-piece.

All ceramics are made for day-to-day use and are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.

However, hand washing is recommended to avoid potential chips and other wear over time. Avoid exposing ceramics to any sudden drastic changes in temperature.

Ceramic surfaces could benefit from a baking soda (or Bar Keeper’s Friend) scrub from time-to-time.

Please remember to wash before using for the first time!

Alexandria Cummings is a small-batch ceramicist living and working in Portland, Oregon.

She studied art education and ceramics at Western Michigan University focusing on process, firing techniques and sculptural objects. With this formal education, a passion for exploration and the desire to make useful things led her to making mugs and bowls for the every day.

She hand throws, hand builds and hand glazes functional objects that are meant to be enjoyed day in and day out. Inspired by color, she experiments with marrying the brightness of the rainbow with the simplicity of neutrals, and applies this balance to modern, yet simple shapes and forms.
