Frida Kahlo Colors Watercolor Paintstone Palette

Set of four watercolors inspired by the incomparable patron saint of women artists, Frida Kahlo. Also an artist in her personal appearance, bringing indigenous influence from her life to her canvases to her hair and dress. Beam Paints honors her with these colors, which call to mind the vivid lushness of her paintings.

Each color is poured into a waxed canvas wrapped half pan sized "paintstone." If you use up a color, you can order a new individual paint stone from Beam Paints to replace it!

Beam Paints is an Indigenous woman owned company based in M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island. Their paints are made from pigments, tree sap, gum arabic, and Manitoulin honey, blended together to create a handmade saturated color that is a joy to paint with. From thick stripes to fine washes and details, quality is evident in every stroke.

Beam Paints uses professional pigments that are tested for light fastness by their suppliers and are rated Excellent as Measured in accordance to ISO/R 105/I; DIN 54003. They then sometimes blend these pigments with their own gathered wild pigments to create a unique final recipe, which is third party tested to be certified non toxic and suitable for use by children by the Art and Creative Materials Institute (ACMI).
