Fish Pocket Knife
Description
This charming little fish-shaped folding pocket knife is ubiquitous in the Czech Republic, where is it known as the Rybička knife, which means "Little Fish" knife. Most Czech children were given one at some point, and many Czech people keep theirs into adulthood and some are even passed down through generations.
The first fish-shaped knife was created a hundred years ago. It originally had a wooden handle, which has since been replaced with a metal one, but its design has mostly stayed the same. The fish knife has been produced for over 70 years in the the same Mikov factory, which was founded in 1794. The Rybička is so well known in the Czech Republic that Mikov has obtained a Regional Product certificate for it.
