All Jungmaven clothing (except socks) is cut and sewn in Los Angeles, California with high quality, globally sourced materials. Jungmaven's founder Robert Jungmann has been advocating for the widespread use of hemp in the textile industry since the 1990s and played a roll in passing the 2018 Farm Bill, which made it legal to grow hemp in the United States for the first time since 1937.
What's so special about hemp? Hemp requires no irrigation, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds, resulting in fabric that is healthier for people and the planet. Hemp is a phyto-remediation plant, meaning it restores balance to environments by cleaning the soil, air and water. It was planted at Chernobyl to reduce soil toxicity.
Hemp also makes great textiles! It has antibacterial properties, is naturally resistant to mold, and is very breathable. It gets softer with each wear, and its strong fibers last through many washes.
