Medium Wave Mug in Short Wave Turquoise

A Short Wave and Al Be Pottery original! Ally made these custom mugs just for us, based on the shop's logo color. We all think they turned out beautifully and hope you love them as much as we do!

A perfectly proportioned 12 oz mug with a comfortable 3-finger handle. This porcelain mug gets its unique striped pattern from hand-mixed pigment folded into the porcelain using a technique called nerikomi. This process makes each mug unique. Finished with a smooth satin glaze. Last photo shows size comparison with the smaller 8 oz mug.

AL BE POTTERY is the work of Ally Bruser, an artist, mom, and teacher living in southwest Washington on the unceded territory of the Chinook Nation.

Her ceramics are hand built using ‘nerikomi’ techniques - the process of pressing and folding multiple colors of clay together, then rolling them into slabs. Incorporating locally harvested wild clay causes variation that is both expected and celebrated.

When she is not making pottery, she is working towards making the arts and arts learning experiences more accessible in the small towns near where she lives or hanging out with her 4-year old, probably painting or playing with mud.
