Mushroom Brush

This Mushroom Brush is the perfect gift for any forager or wild mushroom lover. 

Anyone who has tried to cook wild mushrooms at home knows that dirt and pine needles can be difficult to clean and a soft yet sturdy brush is essential. It's best not to rinse certain kinds of mushrooms like chanterelles in water, because they can easily become water-logged and soggy, and their texture suffers, even after dry sautéing. This brush will be your best friend when you get home from your foray.

Brush is fully compostable.

Materials: oiled beechwood and light horsehair bristles

Dimensions: 4.5 cm (1.75") in diameter

Rinse thoroughly and store bristles-down in a place where the water can drain away from the bristles. Dry thoroughly before storing in a drawer or other enclosed space.

You can sanitize your brush with hydrogen peroxide or 10% bleach if it starts to look dingy to prolong its life. Rinse thoroughly after sanitizing.

If it develops mold, the bristles become too soft, or the wood becomes very cracked, then it's time to replace it. Entire brush is fully compostable at end of life.

Bürstenhaus Redecker was founded in Germany in 1935 by Friedel Redecker, who became blind as a child and found meaningful and profitable work as a brushmaker. He created many of the Redecker products still being sold today by the third generation of the Redecker family. Redecker products are made with natural, renewal materials like sustainably grown and harvested beech wood, plant fibers, animal hair and stainless steel.
