These cushioned crew socks are made without any dyes and their color changes and intensifies over time. The socks get their light green and terracotta colors from Foxfibre cottons, which organic cotton industry pioneer Sally Fox started breeding in the 1980s.

Sold in a pack of 3 pairs with 2 brown pairs of socks and 1 cream pair of socks.

Spun and knit in North Carolina from USA grown organic cotton. Designed and distributed by a tiny company based in Gold Beach, Oregon.

Materials: 85% Colorganic® Certified organic cotton, 10% stretch nylon, 5% elastic

Organic Threads is a family owned business in Gold Beach, Oregon run by Rod & Gail Richards. They type all their invoices on an electric typewriter and they use just gorgeous cotton boll themed letterhead--I find it extremely endearing. They make just one thing: these socks, and slight variations on these socks.

Colored cottons exist in nature, but Sally Fox bred them to be usable in textile production. She breeds Foxfibre cotton on her farm in California, and it is then grown by a few small organic farms in the Southwest and supplied to Organic Threads for these socks. The white cotton is grown on small farms in Texas. The cotton is spun and knit in North Carolina.
