Architectural Details of Astoria Postcard Set

Set of 5 Risograph printed postcards featuring original designs based on the architectural details of some of my favorite buildings in Astoria, Oregon. Send them to your favorite people or hang them on the wall as mini art prints!

Designed by Ari Freitag in Astoria and printed by the wonderful folks at Secret Room Press in Portland, Oregon.

Each postcard is printed in 2 vibrant colors (Medium Blue and Light Lime) on the front, and has a very brief note about the building and the Short Wave logo in Medium Blue on the back, with plenty of empty space for you to write on

Wrapped in a RISO printed paper band.

Printed on white Neenah Paper card stock.

About RISO:
If you're not familiar with Risograph printing, it is basically an automated form of screen printing. A machine that resembles a Xerox machine scans an image, makes a stencil of it, and prints it on paper in a single ink color. You have to scan a new image, burn a new screen, and feed your printed paper through the machine for each layer of color, building up the image with each pass through the machine. This creates a really fun design challenge, just like hand-pulled screen printing does.

The Risograph was released in 1980 primarily as an office copier, but has since developed a devoted following amongst graphic designers, artists and small publishers for its bold, tactile and quirky print quality and its vibrant ink colors. Variation in ink saturation, texture and registration are expected and are part of the charm!</p>
