OSTTRA is a sustainable accessories brand that transforms reclaimed oyster nets and retired climbing ropes into durable, high-end totes. Designed to be strong, versatile, and timeless, OSTTRA bags are built for markets, beaches, and everyday adventures. Each bag is handcrafted in their studio on the Oregon coast.
OSTTRA's oyster netting comes directly from the largest oyster farm in the U.S. After cutting what they need for their operations, large sections of netting are left with no purpose. OSTTRA reclaims this excess material, transforming what would otherwise go to waste.
Their rope handles are made from retired climbing ropes sourced from gyms across the Pacific Northwest. Climbing ropes eventually have to be retired for safety reasons, but they are still very strong. Instead of sending them to the landfill, OSTTRA thoroughly washes them and gives them a second life as sturdy, colorful handles.
They source their vegetable tanned leather from an Oregon leather producer and cut each handle by hand in their studio.
