They use bioacetate (also called cellulose acetate) for all their frames. Bioacetate is a plant-derived and biodegradable alternative to plastic that was the standard for eyeglasses until petroleum-derived plastics were invented. It is not only biodegradable, but also more resilient that plastic, resulting in more durable frames.
