East End Press is a print and design studio based in Glasgow, Scotland. Their colorful handmade paper products are always made from 100% recycled cotton paper using waste from India's textile industry and FSC certified wood. The paper is handmade and all designs are screen printed by hand, giving East End Press products their distinctive colorful and playful look and feel.
Designer and print maker Ellie Hodesdon started making everything for East End Press in her Glasgow studio but outgrew the studio's capacity within a few years. She went to Jaipur, India because it's world renowned for its artisan printmaking workshops. She found Nikhil Khandawalla, the owner of a printmaking business that still produces all of East End's products. Some of his employees have gone on to start their own businesses under his wing, producing items just for East End Press.
Every manufacturer within their supply chain is fair-trade and SEDEX certified to ensure ethical and responsible worker treatment. Ellie is also personally acquainted with everyone involved in making their products and can describe the process and workshop conditions in detail.
